HIGH PRAIRIE Canines
About the Program
High Prairie Canines was started by Micaila Frazier in 2018. She grew up with Labradors and German Shepherds and became passionate about breeding better after losing shepherds to hip dysplasia in her childhood and raising two Labradors with dysplasia because of irresponsible breeding. In her program, she looks to several factors when selecting males and females to produce a litter. She evaluates their temperaments, their health history going back several generations, and their energy levels. She makes sure the parents are fully health tested to produce healthy puppies that will live full and long lives.
She spends time developing the puppies of each litter from the second they are born until they enter into their new families. She gets to know each puppies’ personality and temperament and carefully matches them to the right families to fit their lifestyles. The program includes incorporating Puppy Culture, which is an every day program with protocols that cover early neurological stimulation, aggression prevention, potty training, sitting to ask, leash walking, scent work, problem solving, enrichment seeking to encourage curiosity and minimize fear, and much more to ensure your puppy has the best start for your family.
About the Program
Micaila Frazier lives with her husband and young daughter in “the middle of nowhere” in northeastern Colorado on a ranch set on a little over 200 acres of high plains prairie. She loves nature, animals, gardening and being outside. She is passionate about animal welfare and using her knowledge and skills to breed healthy, happy dogs that will bless their families/partners. She is also eager to give back with her dogs and seeks to produce puppies that will be potential service dogs. She has an active working relationship with Freedom Service Dogs out of Denver, CO. Some of her puppies have succeeded in their service dog training program and gone on to serve veterans and the community.
